Sauvie Africa, 9"x12" oil
Sauvie Africa Reflections, 9"x12" oilThere is a place on Sauvie Island down a gravel road and through a cattle gate called "Africa" because it seems so remote and wild. Instead of wildebeests, cattle graze and gather under shady trees. The weather was cool and cloudy, a welcome relief from recent heat. Light stayed constant throughout the day, easier for plein air painting. I painted two studies, both on 9" x 12" canvas panels.
